Qualification Details
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services is the new qualification recognised by the Care Quality Commission and the CSSIW and replaces Registered Managers Award and the NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management. It is ideal for individuals who lead social care services for adults, young adults or children. The course is suitable for managers, senior practitioners and aspiring staff. You must complete knowledge and competence units totalling 80 credits, out of which 64 credits must be from the mandatory units and a further 12 credits from the 1st optional units selections and a remaining 4 credits from the 2nd optional unit selection. You can chose from up to six pathways including: Management of Adult Services; Management of Adult Residential Services; Practice in Adult Services; Management of Children and Young Peoples Services; Management of Children and Young Peoples Residential Services and; Practice in Children and Young Peoples Services.
