Course Objectives

This course is mandatory for all staff in any work environment to gain general understanding of basic level of fire safety. This is a legal requirements as spelt out by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The course teaches greater understanding of basic concept of fire and safety in the workplace like: causes and prevention of fire, types and uses of fire extinguisher, fire safety precautions.

 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, learners must be able to understand:

  • Common causes of fire at work.

  • Colour coding of various fire extinguishers and their uses.

  • What to do in the event of fire outbreak

  • Location of fire exits, fire assembly points, smoke alarms etc.

  • Preventive measures to fire accident.

  • How to record fire accident at work.
