Course Objectives
This course helps those who work in health, social care or children and young people’s settings to understand how to treat service users with dignity and respect. The course also teaches awareness of how residents feel when they are not treated with dignity and respect.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, learners must be able to understand:

Recognise the core principles to support dignity in care.

Show how to give residents the ability to maintain the maximum level of independence, choice and control

Have an awareness of how residents feel when they are not treated with dignity and respect.

Demonstrate what constitutes best practice when providing services with dignity and respect and ensure they employ these practices.

Explain the reasons why unacceptable attitudes and practices must be replaced where they exist
